Hi all, here are a couple of snaps from Locks Well, it was BULK MASSIVE. No bones about it, heavy duty closeouts, with only a few lefts and rights, inshore was awash with crazy longshore currents and choppy fast moving rips. Deadly day, only the brave would have gone out and that was not me!

To give you an idea on size, the inshore whitewater in the 2nd pic is about as high as a grown man stands. So I'd give that beast about 8'. Was just massive, and no doubt can get bigger, lips were in freefall for an eternity!

TS cool

GEEZ! nice and big, its not often a person gets to stand and look at such an amount of energy ay? and when It happens Im usually in awe, there is a few places I go to when its really sizey to see the ocean in all its glory...
I once drove back from Elliston with the family after a counter meal and stopped by locks well, and it was, Syco huge, looked pretty similar to those shots TS and i know exactly what your saying about the time the lip takes to hit the bottom, when the waves are like that my missus usually says.....'have you seen enough yet'
I always reply with -Hell No

Crazy shots TS! And with the whitewash being around head high it really puts it in perspective!

I remember going to Waits and Parsons on a 8-10ft swell a few years ago and it was amazing watching the lips fall from the sky for what seemed like forever! It looked as if it was all in slow motion as the waves rolled in!

Awesome shots there TS!! they look absolutely massive!!

I think we have all seen some big waves down waits and parsons! and they fall in slow motion with that real deep blue look about them.

Other times that come to memory is a fishing expedition to Tunk, (via the beach) it looked pretty reasonable. but once we got down on the beach it was an easy 8' shorey! i was in awe! Another one would have to be the numerous trips down esperance way they have some massive swells and also margs has some massive swells too!!

Well, i headed over to marion bay Friday night after work, i got over there around 11pm so it was a little late to go have a suss of how it was breaking. Saturday morning, bright and early checked out every break from chi's to pondi.

Chi's looked really good as it was offshore winds and a touch over 3'. we were quite keen to get out there... but then there was a comp on down there so we headed round ethels and it was sick!! absalutely massive (not as big as TS' shots but still very sizey) i love the sound of that real crack as the wave hits the sand.

West cape was the same so we headed to pondie and there was 4 others in the water, but they were all heading in so we went out here for a few hours and had it to ourselves most of the day. was a semi-sloppy 2 - 3' and as the day wore on the Northerlys ate into it. had a massive pod of dolphins with us at one stage as well. they were catching some of the waves.

Definately awesome! can't wait to surf innes again. although i'd love to hit west cape on a more managable day. I figured it looks pretty out of control - and there is no one out. probably for a reason. Chi's looked good though. Had a real punchy take off.

I'll see if i can upload a few photos.

Cheers.

Sean.

Impressive shots TS! Awaiting some more pics if you have em! Looks very raw, cold and powerful.

Also sounds like an alright little trip sean, Ethels cops so much swell, post some pics if you can to!

Might go to waits or parsons tomorrow morning and take the stick out, I've been getting swags of barrels at knights on the lid for the last couple of weeks and I need a change.

 What a dilemma :p

North Steyne (Manly) has been pumping this week. A new easterly swell has lit up the banks from Tuesday morning until today with me having to give this morning a miss due to needing a sleep in laugh

Oh and here's 2 pics from 2 weekends ago along the South Coast. Me and 2 mates shared this 3-4ft bank with only one other! One of funnest beachie surf's I've ever had! Oh and I've heard Waits has had good banks of late??

Sorry about the quality guys! No photographer that's for sure. The first few are also taken on a phone! from quite a distance. would've been around 4'. to give oyu an idea, if you look at the chi's shot there is actually half a dozen surfers out.

Cheers

Perc.

went down to victor on saturday - Parsons had picked up in size when i got down there and was washing through the point so opted to not head out.

Were you down at waits point sat stokie?

I headed out to christies early this arvo for a session. was pretty hectic and outta control but good fun and some solid rides!! at around 3 - 4'. i ended up heading down to brighton for a couple of hours after christies and it was good fun. got some ok little right handers. haha. good fun not having to paddle and just jumping off.

Sweet shots Craig. Wish I could say I scored the same this morning!!!

Anyway, looks like Spring has sprung for us up here now, so I might as well put away the boards for the next 3 mths.

I see you prepared the SE Qld forecast tonight. Steve away somewhere ATM? I hope something sneaks under the radar from that Tasman low later this week....it's all we've got to hang our hats on up here!!!

Don, Steve's wife had a baby boy on Sunday, so he's taken a few days off. Seems he certainly picked the right time too! Not a great week ahead in your neck of the woods unfortunately frown

Nice pics of yorkes percy, looks like it was firing! Ethel's looks big, guess no one was out on the ledge?? And yeah I did't end up going to Waits on saturday, but I did head out to Christies for about 30 minutes on sunday before getting absolutely hammered by horizontal hail and 20-30 knot winds, luckily i saw the front coming and caught a wave in - had to jump in my car with the wetty on - such a crazy little storm.

Looks like there might be a bit of SW swell for SA and Vic next week.... eek

Nice photo's guys! Looks like there's a solid swell and OK winds for Victor at the moment, any of you guys down there?? Taking on 6ft+ Knights Stokie?? :p

It's been near flat for nearly 2 weeks over here now, a small wave on the cards for Thursday and more so on Friday but nothing special!
