Excellent news WG, congratulations on getting the job. cool

Am loving this bland weather... great for getting a bit of much needed exercise in... awful hard to do when you're sweating before you start. whistle

yer congrats for my fellow WG. Hope you do well for your job..

Well tomorrow the tour down under comes through our town after starting at Gawler and finishing at Hahndorf, so I will hope too get some snaps of the riders and maybe Mr Armstrong himself, but it might be hard with 133 riders bunched up together. Nothing else to talk about cos the weather, despite nice and warm, looks a bit bland in the next week.

When's Our classic high based storms coming back!

Next monday seems to be the start of another heatwave with 31 forecasted for Mount Gambier but thats like 6 days away so the weather could change by then although i'd love to see a return to hot weather and high based storms as im sick of this cool weather now

Ruptured appendix - Crikey Chris! sick
Kaboom - ouch! eek
Sounds like a job for the Weatherzone surgical team - Farm Weather, Roves, Hillsrain and Helen among others are all probably pretty nifty with the bag stitching needle and bindertwine or the saddle stitching gear evillaugh
Hope you make a rapid recovery and any pain is fading fast.
Great diagram of the sun bouncing off the ocean and illuminating cloud by the way cool
Noctilucent clouds could be another possible cause of unusual brightenings in the late evening sky - not sure how high they are or how long after sunset it takes before they catch the last light of the sun.

Having said there was no sign of a heatwave, all of a sudden we are looking at possibly 10 days of over 30C at least. 40C now expected tomorrow.

How is a heat wave defined Is it 10 days over 30 or 5 over 35?.

well officially in Adelaide its 5 over 35C or 3 over 40C, but I've also heard it mentioned 10 over 30C, but nowadays that seems to happen too regularly to be called a heatwave officially.

Ouch! Appendicitis! that sucks Chris mate hope you recover soon well mate, I've had a few friends with Appendix issues and they say if can be particually painfall if left un-treated. frown

Tim E mate this might not be a heatwave this coming week, it still sees possibly 7 days over 30C so we only have 3 days to go after that :P, the only way the temps will lower is a moderate cold front due around early next week. If we do get 10 days over 30, watch for the media to hype things up, saying "Adelaide experiences it's 4th heatwave in just 12 months" "Is global warming having the greatest effect in SA?!";).

This cloud forming over the central areas tonight is interesting,, it almost has rain in it, and i tell ya,, if it keeps thickening just a little bit more , those steaky clouds will leak and we will have BOM weather experts racing around trying to explain where it all came from. I'm guessing it'l burn off by tommorow and we'll be punished by the sun ,, once again. At least it's only 1 really hot day... FOR NOW!

Actually, i've just checked the radar and i assume thats virga just out from Wallaroo over the ocean,,, it couldn't rain tonight,, could it?

def no rain.... little virga yes as you've pointed out on radar...
Certainly an impressive mid level bank of cloud has developed over central areas this evening. It is associated with the weak trough back pretty much along the coast to the WA border.

Have had a couple very light showers pass over here this evening ... I had to stick my head out the back door to make sure it was rain that I was hearing!
Not enough to wet the footpath though but it sure sounded nice on the patio roof ... grin

Cool pic Sarah!
Same here Paully, grass is damp this morning but not enough to register anything.
Cloud had that look last night, beautiful evening with wet smelling air shuffling through from the south. Sunlight was crisp in its last rays. But ahhhh that wet air smell mixing with dry yellow grassy paddocks and a hint of eucalyptus. Noice..

Power failure killed my UPS this morning and screwed up a few bits and pieces dammitall

Hi everyone, and get well soon Chris! Had a patch of spotting on the roof last night and today is quite delightful.
Hope it remains like this for the Lycra Set tomorrow who are finishing at Goolwa. I am sure they will enjoy a nice breeze off the Southern Ocean.

Todays weather was not too bad considering it was meant to reach 35 but only felt like it was about 29-30 degrees outside which is good although its something we shouldnt get use to cause sooner or later we'll be back into that cycle of severe heatwaves crazy
