Get well soon Chris, I know it don't tickle...

Lovely pics Sarah & Tim, well the way the day started off I never expected it to go past 33C at the most, but has turned out to be a nice day....

Is it normal for this time of year in the Tropics to have (Correct Me Please) 4 or 5 cyclones this time of year? and did we have more instability in S.A. before? blush

Just curious ( as always )

Thanks Steve cheers

heaps of rain here this arvo...it just wasn't making it to the ground! working way out on the oyster lease and had thickening Ac to As most of the arvo when the Virga started streaming down felt a couple drops but no where near raining, very dark now to the west and possible thunder added to the forecast for tomorrow morning, I don't have much confidence in it, but its a straw to grasp in these needy times crazy

get well soon Chris!

Convective outlook sure looks nice for a big portion of SA tomorrow, certainly enough heat up this way with the temp reaching 41.3C here today. I must be turning into an Arab I reckon, 41C didn't really feel that hot in the scheme of things. crazy

TH, hope you caught some nice fish, would have loved to have been there on the ocean today.

Sarah, Tim, Just beautiful. Again, a lot like what we had here including some red virga on sunset... no pics from me though, too busy watering the trees. smile

got a few good snapper, and some horrible ugly
things i've never heard of and can't remember
the name of. 'bout a foot long with eyes as big
as dinner plates and huge long spines down its
back that your not even allowed to touch, makes
for fun getting the hook out and getting them
off the boat.

timing for this particular load of clapped out
rot is totally up the creek as usual, perfectly
12hrs put of phase, nocturnal cooling could very
well have made what's coming through one of the
great lightning events of the season for us. instead
it will probably happen for western and central vic.
for adelaide, mid north and s.e. i wouldnt be holding
my breath for anything to happen, riverland in with
a slightly better chance but not much.
best to just enjoy the heat and the teasing effect
of what could have happened here is going to
happen in vic.

got strikes out east on the back edge of the cloud
now but according to what i see they should cark it
fairly quickly with maybe the odd clandestine rumble
here and there.

nice outside atm, heaps of virga and mamattus all
over the place, cloud base has dropped since yesterday,
from around 12+thou' to around 8, can see rain falling
out of the cloud almost directly overhead but nothing
to ground yet.

A few showers & isolated storms incoming. Tracker showing a few spurious strikes amongst it so someone might be lucky... Hot morning for sure but should be quite pleasant by late arvo..

Certainly is warm up here and windy, also. Not sure that the whole of the Mid North required a Catastrophic rating, though. Anyway, looking forward to the change and hopefully some damp, if not sightly wet, air. smile

"spurious strikes" ?? I think they are genuine ones on the tracker TE, no?
"1. Lacking authenticity or validity in essence or origin; not genuine; false.
2. Of illegitimate birth."

Yes lovely pics Sarah and Fizzer smile

Haha! Some good pics floating through this thread, weather aint doin a great deal despite the odd strike on tracker. Need to wait for a proper deepening monsoonal low to shift south across the inland and then the infeed will return. Has been a good tropical season, often takes a while to translate down south however.

TS cool

yer as Tim E and Lennie said, there's now some small cells off the coast now, and sky looks alot more turbulent and unstable too when I just had a peak outside smile This wind is shocking though, gusting up to 60km at times. Those firebugs better stay away today!

Not a nice day on my part of the coast. Had a few spits and spots. T32.8 NNW Wind gusting around 30 knots so feeling sorry for the lycra lads. Traffic has been bumper to bumper and often at a standstill from Goolwa to Middleton! Dusty!

What a godgiven waste of space that was. mad Everything's belting along so fast that even the Vics will be lucky to see anything! Ah well. Now if only the temperature would plummet. wink

Decent storms now in the Murraylands & Upper SE.....

Several fires atm started by lightning down that way, & still a couple in the Parawa area from earlier strikes.

A fire that was threatening homes in the Kapunda area is now contained.

Sounds like heaven, Liz. smile Currently 30.2C with winds averaging 43km/h and gusting to 51km/h from the west. You can smell the ocean here, which is awesome, but would be better if it were under cloud cover.

Hope the fires down south are contained quickly, bad conditions to be fighting fires. frown

No rain here. Got upto 34.7C before 11 this morning, but the cool change knocked the temp on the head and it has been going south all afternoon and now a nice 22.2C

man what a hive of activity, i can barely keep up,
due to a lack of interest the weather for the next
few days has been canceled.
that would have had to have been the most disgustingly
despicable load of garbage this season has had to offer
up so far.
has taken a while to cool down but should be a good
night for those who like the bone spanking cold, i.e.
anything under 18.
time for this little black duck to finish his bundy
and go hoe into a fresh snapper.
