Doesn't look too bad out there at the moment Tim.

I encountered 18 spots of rain as I left for work this morning and it did look nice and dark out to the West. Looks like those few cells in the Gulf and on Y.P. have a little bit of activity in them.

The worse part is I am stuck in the office all day today, ah well at least I can keep an eye on the radar.

When I finally got to bed last night/this morning, I had been watching the Storms coming across the Bight at a nice turn of speed. Got up again at 4 and had a look and they had just died at Pt. Lincoln so this morning is quite a surprise to hear or is it here, no definitely Hear some rumbles and see, or is it sea, no definitely see some strikes on the radar evillaugh

A bit too early but as TS said, the next few days smile

Lovely colours Helen cheers

John.

Those cells certainly weakened after hitting YP. Got a few drops here & some nice cloud formations.

Need to keep an eye now on the developments to the west of Port Lincoln. Actually Azza should be getting something atm?

Interesting forecast, I keenly await to see if anything eventuates! The convective outlook does seem quite interesting for us, I wonder what the BoM will say in their next forecast in a few minutes time...

The humidity is definately up and hovering around 50-60% in most places.

Another good sign, from the Notes on the Weather:
"A middle level disturbance is producing isolated thundery showers west of Yorke Peninsula, which will extend across the agricultural area and south of the Pastoral districts today, though fine conditions will continue in the southeast of the State.

On Thursday, isolated thundery showers associated with the middle level disturbance will develop north of about Adelaide, will contract to north of about Port Augusta in the evening."

New forecast has now removed the Northern Suburbs part from the thundery showers forecast, obviously meaning we could now see them over the whole metro area. Tomorrow's forecast now also includes thundery showers for the morning.

yer there is a chance Dean mate because we have an unexpected middle level cloud mass that according to the models, wasn't going to happen a few days ago. But we know that surprises can spring up! I don't know if anyone remembers the Dec 29? 2006 storms that gave Adelaide metro and the mallee a great lightning show. Thunderstruck was still living here at the time and he said "it was one of the best chases he ever been on"! and quite right, some of the lightning was brilliant, some were almost pink in colour, and I put that storm the best in lightning brightness! It blinded your eyes!

I'm a bit late here too but I hope everyone enjoyed their AUS day yesterday!

And keep an eye on that stuff there Azza's area near Coffin bay!

Thanks John. smile Looking rather unstable up this way... some nice accas and the odd tower or two to the north. Spent all morning in the hospital with Kylie... all's well, just blood etc. taken for some routine tests, but she needs to zonked out to have it done, poor pet.

I'd like to request sparkies for this evening and to be gone before another necessary trip into Clare tomorrow, thanks. smile

Don't jinx it timmy! I have a good feeling about this one, these are my reasons:

A) we've already had storms close by this morning, meaning the instability was already there and that was the entree to the better stuff

B) We've got the sun out, so moisture rises into the atmosphere, the temp is around 30 degrees and RH around 50%

C) No big bank of cloud accompanying this trough, so storms will develop freely along the trough line without turining into a slab of rain.

D) the timing of the trough. We get our best storms early evening when the trough line sits in a favourable position and when we have our usual ingredients. So even if get no storms during the day, nocturnal cooling can re-fire them again!

So that's my prediction lol, now watch it collapse wink

Well well well, I've been off watching a movie for the last 2 hours and I come back online and see this!! It's looking very impressive, and my place could even see some action in the next half an hour if this little cell heading our way holds!

Annoying part is that when this big patch reaches us (if it holds up), I'll be in a bloody topic counselling session for uni!! My appointment is at 4.30, so I might just catch the tail end...

Yeah, we may not get any storms but it still looks like we may get 1 or 2mm just to liven things up a bit. As Mason was saying earier, hopefully nocturnal cooling can kick some life into it all later on.

Lisa and I just heard thunder, but after an outdoor inspection, I'm unsure of whence it came.

I can hear heaps here at the moment but can't tell where from either, everything seems too far away still...

EDIT - Getting really frequent and slightly louder now, something must have popped up since the last radar frame...
Just went out the back to inspect and saw 2 ripper CGs up towards the W grin Why is it that I have to leave now, right when we get storms?!
