Thanks for the refresher Deano. After being away for 15 years, it will take some time to remember how Adelaide weather behaves. Will that band last over YP and the Gulf? Fingers crossed

Hmmmm got home, i've now read the last 4 or so pages to catch up. left work (pooraka) about 5:20 pm in the middle of a few spots. Got to Bolivar BP / Caltex heavier spotting,, wet roads ect. I get home 1 mm in the guage thank you very much. A quick look at the radar shows a band converging on the greater Adelaide area and i'll give it a thumbs up for action later tonight. looking forward to it.

Well, some people call it that.... smirk

Have a little feeling that to get something tonight you may have to travel a little north.

Sweet stuff, Ben. cool

Round 2 is making its way here. Rumbles of thunder again can be heard. Hope it saves a bit of itself for later this evening. smile

Had a few false starts early afternoon, then just before 5.30 it started to come down, from the front of the house for a change, SE direction and lasted for about 10-15 minutes, even ran down the drain pipes for a few minutes as well.

The cloud is s till looking nice to the west of here and some deep rumbles to boot.

Recharging the batteries right now, just in case.

Temp in the city has jumped up from 24 earlier to 28 now, hopefully that will help things along a bit later. At the very least we will be looking at some nice showers to add a little to the reserves smile

Nice cell heading for Spalding and surrounds, bigger clusters to west with mangled lightning but some solid lines on EP. Def be lightning around tonight for the keen chaser.

TS cool

The first of what I hope will be many photoworthy pictures this evening. A nice little CG popped out of the LHS of the rainshaft just after I pressed the button. frown

I see a lightning trigger will be the next thing on the wish list. wink

If I could, I'd head straight to the coast near Moonta etc to intercept that line racing across from the EP, pretty intense and good chance of fresh formation ahead and pushing into the Mid North.

TS cool

Yeah, looks that way Tim - well at least in terms of lightning. We are getting a very healthy shower here at the moment, looks like it will last for a little while longer and then that may be it for the night. Oh well, I'm still clasping to the hope that nocturnal cooling will give it all a kick up the bum.

There is lot of storm clouds over SA at the moment when looking at the BSCH visible satellite image, certainly not something you often see in this state!

I'm thinking it's probably going to be a bit late for me to head off now to intercept the bigger patch of storms, plus there's the little issue of not having much money after not working for 4 weeks...unfortunate, because tonight would have been a good night to get out!

a fine clear sunny mild day was had here,
a smiidgen of light cirrus here and there,
just another typical boring almost autumn
like day, lotsa pages since the last post,
let me guess, someone just had a baby, or
maybe someone ended up in hospital with
acute ingrown toenail, or could it be that
something might actually be happening up
there weatherwise, still, typical s.e.
always missing out, seems to becoming more
pronounced as the years flow on.
deano you're still wet behind the ears and
barely outta nappies, you got no idea what
a force field is, compared to others storm
wise you're typical of a millionaire crying
poor.
