Yer struggling atm though, well held back by decent cap, trough is there but lacking true grunt to force cells up, though they have gone up very well further N where there is more moisture. Still watch the N Riverland area and no mans land tonight for some possible isolated nocturnal activity.

Hi TS

What are your thoughts on the Low, the models are very interesting yet different giving both the indication we will get some action on Tuesday-Thursday, then on the other hand we might not, your thoughts?

Look at its movement today, we will see cloud in Adelaide overnight/Sunday morning although maybe not much precip, I can't see that front stopping the Low, but i have been wrong before LMAO.

But i guess the real question needs to be asked, have BOM got any idea at this stage?? .. I see now finally they have added the low edging into the eastern districts on Thursday, it will be here before then smile

Just re checked the charts,

* BOM 7-day has the LOW sitting smack bang over Adelaide Wednesday night which would hopefully mean at least showers locally, very interesting.

* EC 7-day says pretty much the same thing smile smile

We all wait patiently for the outcome, maybe BOM have also given up on forecasting showers for Adelaide until closer to be more accurate, can hardly blame them of late

Glad I decided not to chase this evening, just hasn't quite felt right today. Will probably fire up tomorrow while I'm in the big smoke for the Caravan & Camping and Outdoor Show. smile

I'll join in the chorus and wish you a happy birthday too Sarah smile Enjoy it, you only turn 18 once!!

Interesting that WZ is showing GFS progging 30-45mm for the coming week. I doubt we will even get half that, but half that would certainly be a nice fall to start of the Autumn smile

Yeah, extraordinarily windy here at the moment, rattling the windows and blowing some loose tiles off our neighbour's house. Even sounds like soft thunder sometimes, it's quite loud! The best part about it is that it has bought the temperature right down, I doubt it would be any more than about 13-14 degrees at the moment...

Just been up to SKY lookout (8 km due east of the city, above PENFOLDS WINERY) up on the hill i'll tell you that the winds blowing quite nicely from the east over the hills and down the gullys (gully winds) probably around the 15 - 20 knots or so. It was cold enough to start up the goose bumps so back in the car we climbed after a few fireworks shooting up into the sky around the NORWOOD area. Noticed some high cloud in the sky and the moon had a light ring around it presenting a 'chance of rain' coming.

Quite a few nice showers / rain inland around the Tarcoola (14 mm), Roxby Downs (7.2 mm) and Lee Creek (7 mm) at this stage but rain moving north west.

I look at the satpic and there Adelaide is, smack bang in the middle of the 'NO MANS LAND' sandwhich between tropical convection and a week south westerly system that seemingly just wants to ruin our chances of rain once again. Fingers crossed this systems weekens and allows the infeed of tropical moisture south. It's still not looking favourable for any rain as yet. keep watching though! smile

Alice springs another 28 mm again. That place must be looking like a green oasis , tropical even.

I know it's off topic but for those that havn't heard. You may have friends or relatives on the east coast or some islands in the pacific that may be affected by this.

One thing bout the internet is that it gives the loonies a place to gather.

Don't think I can remember such powerful and persistent south easterlies dropping temps to 10 degrees regularly and being so comprehensively dry.

Happy Birthday Sarah & RS.... smile

Looking VERY interesting from mid week onwards for us.... ALL models pointing at the remnants of the tropical low to make its way down here via a trough along the eastern border. Could be some very nice falls about eastern SA, but at the same time could be quite variable in location & amount too...
