Did some rabbit shooting last week and there were cracker loads. I shot 7 doe's and they were all in kitten. As rabbits are self regulating, does this mean that this season will be moist and lush???

Same story here many years ago, Simmo,
Rabbits were full of young and the local old timers [ I hadn't made it to that category at the time! ] and all the resident rabbitto's said real good season coming up.

Year 1982.
Amongst the worst droughts since white-man arrived around here and the lowest ever rainfall recorded in most of the eastern half of Australia!

Yep, today I sprung a small rabbit several times eating my veggie garden, and this evening there was a child rabbit and a grown up one on the lawn. Bugger. I was in a pindone program back before winter, but getting on the NSW ones here is impossible. The lands protection pest mob have to mix the pindone with your carrots, so if you're rural and out all day working, you're stuffed. it can't happen.

They advertised what LOOKED like a course for landholders to be able to source Pindone, but noooo, the course was so you could be the receiver of the Pindone they mixed with your carrots. Give me strength.

They talk about control, but seem hell-bent on preventing anyone actaully doing any.

There's no warrens up in this area, so the rabbits I saw are 'surface rabbits'. We blocked up the warren in the dam wall some time back.

I actually came across this property by accident, a big gully coming out of the local ranges. I have no idea who controls an area such as this but I'll be doing my best to help them out and fill my fridges up, tomorrow...
