If you look at Melbourne's climatology ( it says that the highest ever temperature occurred in January 1939 and it was 45.6 degrees C. It says that the February record is 43.2 degs.

Am I mistaken - but I thought Black Saturday (Feb 2009) exceeded that?

Thanks for any feedback.

We are currently in the process of updating the climate data in our database. This process will be completed next week. You will then see the extremes updated to include recent records.
