I think Crookhaven is a seaside town east of Nowra on the South Coast from memory. nerd

ChiCOWgo beats us hands down in terms of interesting weather- in fact just about everywhere in North America does except for coastal California. Blizzards, severe thunderstorms, heatwaves are all par for the course in the Midwest- the whole area is like Melbourne on steroids.

I’m still getting the odd CC over head here and the thunder with it. It’s hung around a lot longer than I thought it would.
Light/moderate rain falling atm.
Nice cell just west of Mangrove Mt atm.

Love it snow4!! It sure is! I miss it too...someday I hope to be back there again temp or perm...not sure...depends on Hubby, etc. Only thing that really freaks me out is the bad electrical storms...got LOTS of them in Chicago! I remember when I would be at work and whenever we would get a ripper one, I would have to stop working (to a point) and have a look outside and do a bit of pacing. LOL! laugh

I actually have a nightmare about once or twice a year about getting caught up in a Tornado!! I'm guessing that's how i'll leave this world...into the next... eek

Lorelei I'm jealous of anyone who was in Chicago during the Jordan era, i got to a few games in his last season there and it was awesome!, 7mm here this afternoon and a couple of quite lightning active storms moving through b4 maritime cu rudely barged on in

Was in Canberra all day, Drove through Robertson around 6:30pm and there were still small drifts of hail laying around. Leaf litter small (no twigs), so stones must have been 1-2cm only at best, but obviously a heavy fall for the drifts to still persist.

Got two bizarre rogue booms this evening, to my north, and there were no apparent storm clouds. There were clouds, but no evident storms. The blustery easterly scared off the hopeful storms hovering around the S/SW, icy wind and a bunch of very moist air with misty stuff.

When i left Canberra ( to drive back to the 'gong) there were a couple of towers going up around Captains Flat, soon got obscured by lower clouds, so it does not surprise me.

Quagmelson...I know...Jordan was a sight to see! I only got to one NBA game with Jordan...a Semifinal game in 1992 I think. I just remember being gobsmacked watching him play! And watching the games of the 90s leading up to all the championships...Wow! He was something!!!

Speaking of Chicago, sitting here watching GMA on Nine and the reports on this massive low pressure system moving out of the Midwest now onto the East Coast. Looks like they had an interesting day too, to say the least. One of the largest systems ever (with the lowest pressure reported) to ever cross the midwest. And the size is massive!!! Tornadoes everywhere, etc... There'd be some happy chasers over there at the moment!

Robertson with that hail! Sounds like a quickie snowman could have been made! smile

Quakers Heights...anywhere near Quakers Hill? We lived there for about 18 months in 02-03.

It did lorelei, thanks for asking. Only took six hours! I accidentally erased my external hard-drive yesterday with years of backups, luckily I have another copy though. I certainly felt a hot flush though when I realised what I had done...

We had snow up here recently but nothing like your part of the world:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0nAmHNUjaGY

And if aslaws is reading, our sick chook survived after my much love and hand feeding:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=948sp6_oVN8

We are in a pea souper today, absolute grey out with low visibility. Should improve gradually today though as the next system moves in.

Might go and film the fog.

A very light, patchy frost early this morning in Armidale. Almost expected though, with the intrusion of cool, dry air into the region yesterday.
