Just wait for Avalon 2011 ... I will need to buy another CF card for my 5DmkII for that! Already lining up the purchase of the Canon EF 100-400mm F3.5-5.6L IS lens for that, upgrading from my EF 70-200mm F4L - Can't wait, Big group of hardcore aviators from my work heading down, will be absolutely smashing.

Not quite a spotting 'as yet' but very shortly will be.. our domestic fleet is being replaced with scarebusses with the newest delivery in a couple of months, being painted up in the "all blacks" livery.. cant wait to see this baby fly overhead on descent.. should paint the entire fleet this way, white is boring.

Should add.. reason for livery & being deployed on the domestic runs, timed for the rugby world cup next year, to stick it up all the die-hards flying from venue to venue.. great marketing by Air NZ!

Tokina SX-Z 60-300 MF film lens for the airborne shots..thats been chopped up from a K/R mount..very close to Pentax K..and it only owes me $36!

I personally think its back focusing because of softness at the long end at infinity..

And as for what im after..anything that resolves a nice sharp image at Airshow Display Range...for a reasonable price..

However..i think im getting my $36 worth looking at the photos ive posted.. wink

The ground shots are Pentax DA 18-55mm WR..

I have been informed from a reliable source that there will be one last final display of the remaining F-111s to be hosted at the RAAF base Amberley in December, consisting of a 4hr display. I will not be missing this one.

Thought I might share some video of an Emirates A380 arriving into Brisbane AP which diverted from Sydney last monday night due to a line of severe storms. Was a nice surprise to have her visit Brisbane. Also added a full walk-around video.

Enjoy!
