Certainly looking like we might be in for a bit of water on the coast.
Took a couple of pics of the cell that started to develop around beechmont/springbrook.

Mother Nature has certainlly got her assets on display here!

Doesnt look like there is enough heat left in the tank to sustain anything decent just showers now id say kinda disappointing but definitely not surprising given the setup was more aimed at the Boarder ranges, Warick, Boonah, Beaudesert South into NR and Tablelands as I mentioned last night. Brissy was a bit of a long shot but we can only dream LOL.

On a good note... it nearly made it to 29C today!

Here we go again with one of these funny little local events like we had a couple of weeks ago. Absolutely bucketing down up the road from us in the Moogerah/Mount French area but barely a spit here. 37mm at Moogerah Dam already at 8pm. We'll see what 9pm says. Heavy showers just streaming along the same line over and over. Apparently it's "fine". Well......everywhere except where it isn't. Who'd work for the BOM? There'll be a lot of cranky farmers with wet hay tonight.

And that next total for Moogerah Dam is up to 60mm! Not bad at all, and it should see the level go up from just under 70% to maybe 75%. Other places SE along the Border Ranges have had 20-40mm. Latest radar shows further weakening.

I have been reliably informed that tonights 'Schlutercast' (also known as the John Schluter/Ch 7 version of what actually happened today) was 'mostly dry across the SE today apart from a shower or two over the Sunshine Coast'...while significant rainfall had already occured in the hours leading up to the news, anywhere south of a line from Boonah to Cooly!

Vintage stuff!

Tops on that one were about 5-6ks at most. One congestus developed over here too with a brief shower of rain. You could see the rain curtain spread downwards. Certainly humid with the DP on 21, though the temp only 24/25.

Sitting here in Brissy wondering where all the storms are. And the summer temps.
Currently 27.7 deg, 18.1 DP and 57% humidity.
More scatters on the radar - any chance these will develop into anything? (I'd settle for a decent rainstorm at this stage - although I'm pretty sure my limited knowledge is telling me the answer is going to be no...)

For those interested...a reminder that there's a weatherbook liftout in today's Sunday Mail...and a docco on extreme weather at 5:30pm on Channel 9 this arvo!

It's been nice to have some warmer weather of recent...waking up not burried in covers, almost feels odd so far! Hopefully this week's storm setup can hold it together and doesn't turn to rain - here's hoping and praying!! smile

Guess I could feel a little lucky last night with a 2min heavy shower passing through. And yes, I did do a double take when I heard the roof making some alien water falling noise! Checked out the radar, and a tiny orange dot that had built up over the bay in about 10mins managed to make it over my house and then just as quickly disappear 10mins later to the south of me.

Thanks AC!! is a very good booklet, they should have a weather booklet in the Sunday mail at least once a month to wrap up the weather on the past month. The story on ACA was good aswell and I'll definitely be warding the doco this arvo.

And fingers crossed Tuesday is the best day for storms smile
