Wow the ants here are going crazy. They are swarming across the ground and all hurrying toward the side of the house! Must be a lot of rain coming!
Oh wait...might have something to do with the dead bird around there...or the slob next door who leaves his rubbish bin open...

I find that ant sand soon puts a stop to that! (Doesn't get rid of the slob or dead bird though)

After Tuesdays storm it looks set we will go into a prolonged wetter weather pattern of moist onshore winds feeding into series of upper troughs both EC and GFS going for this.

Yes I agree Sequeako. There is potental for another good rain event for Southern Qld (inland) from Friday onwards. Trough looks like deepening over Southern QLD and moving slowely East. Moderate to heavy falls are likley. A long way out I know but something to keep an eye on. I think BOM has picked this up in theit latest afternoon bulletin for the State outlook. Not sure if we shoulde starting a thread for this event. Thoughts?

Too far out at this point. We don't need everybody getting hyped up for something which may or may not occur, and as we've seen in the past, things chop and change.
And by 'may not', I mean that while we will get rain, it might not be anything significant, maybe just a bit of flash flooding, and heaven forbid, Deshon Street might go under. Bearing in mind the soil is still saturated, especially in low-lying areas. There is a creek near our house, and there was already water just sitting on top of the soil after 25mm of rain.

It's looking like more like enhanced shower activity later next week then anything major at this stage. Wednesday is looking quite wet with a convergence area with the SE'ly change. But, it looks like affecting mostly the Sunshine Coast region.
Tonights sounding is showing fair bit of instability and some lower level moisture. Wouldn't be surprise to see some heavy showers/ low chance of storms popping up tonight?

It maybe a little more than enahanced showers. Latest access models have some good rain totals for the SE from Wednesday to Saturday with totals up to 200 mms.

I think we will get flash flooding with these storms then follow up rain to really cause flooding, also could be a good quicklsilver pro this year , they buncerd down in cyclone irene last year so they can handle weather

keeps hitting 35*C around the indro - corinda area midday - mid afternoon for the past week, including high spot temps early morning. Currently raining in Brisbane right now and the radar doesn't look like it will dissipate any time soon.

my room got flooded this morning rain came in sideways threw the window an wet evrything, then from about 7am to 9am it was absalutley bucketing down toreential in this part of the world, not to sure about rain rate but it was solid as, i recon wed be 50mm plus the last few hours just very isolated on the tweec coast
