Yep, warming days and stable weather until the middle of next week. Although the 10 mornings up until yesterday averaged 2.9, nearly 4 degrees below the October average min.

After what has seemed like constant rain for the last 3-4 months. This warm dry spell we are coming into is very much appreciated over here smile

For those of you hoping for rain I hope you all get some before too long.

DM, might have to break out the t'shirt, shorts and thongs if this keeps up.

Afternoon all,

Looks like an interesting week of weather with warmer temperatures and the chance of some thunderstorms through out Tasmania but especially in the Southern, Central and Eastern areas of the state from Late Wednesday to Thursday.
There could be a good fall of rain if we get storms or the low or trough hang over us.

Evening all,

Great weather the past few days down here in the southeast and by the sounds of it the rest of the state, warm today at home with a top of 29.2C! Sea breeze didnít come in till late arvo.

Going for 31C tomorrow and then looks like we get a good drink come Wednesday evening onwards, looking forward to the chance of a good storm, hopefully the sea breeze isnít in to strong on the Wednesday arvo as they usually kill off any storm activity in the SE (unless theyíre strong cells).. anyway something to look forward too. grin

Hi all 30 c here in Hobart as forecast , what a searing stinker.
Despite the cool forecast of 17 c ? on Thurs it looks like we are going to average around 26 c for an 8 day period including today. shocked
Even next Wed and Thurs still looking at 25 c or more at this stage , I'm sure glad I didn't enter this years Casino to the Pinnacle with Sunday forecast at 27 c . This run usually starts freezing cold and greets the runners at the top with snow most years , not this year.
Still a hellish 27 c outside !

Average maximum to be 21.0c on 21st if the 7 day forecast comes true, closing in on another monthly record for Hobart.
Rain coming up looks good there's a 50-100mm projection for an area from the south-east through the midlands on the BOMs forecast rainfall map tonight.

Launceston must be heading the same way, averaged 3 degrees more than Hobart over the first 13 days (only colder once), was averaging 20.9 before yesterday compared to Hobart's 17.9. Records only go back to 1980, but the warmest Nov was 22.5 in 2007 and 22.3 in 2009. Yesterday was 25+ and should be the same again today.

Not sure about rain, models have been pretty variable. BOM 3 day has good rain over the south tonight and tomorrow morning - hopefully the BOM 10 day 00Z run from yesterday is correct. I reckon the Derwent Valley, southern and central midlands will see the best of the storm activity. Brighton Breeze is probably in the prime location - out of the forumers here.

Not often you see the Derwent or SE being a "best chance" of rain. Hope it rains well.

Best chance of a storm, maybe not best chance of rain - although could be the case under the right storm...

You guys are hotter than me - about 24 here. Your position on the globe means you can get those really long Nor Westerly airflows from the central areas of Oz - that is where your heat comes from.

Our position gives us less exposure to such a long draw of hot air.

Early sea breeze in the SE - still hot at Campania, but Hobart fell a few degrees short of 30. Launceston up to 28.

Yeah was quite cooler near the city snowies with the onshore breeze, topped out at 32.8C at home, currently sitting on a warm 29C with a SSW breeze. smile

Good looking storm on radar - the one Snowies mentioned - red core - hope it pushes over the estuary smile

The Storms on radar looked good earlier on but looked like most of the rain was evaporating, however just had a cracker of a downpour at home! Was red on the radar and is moving towards Hobart airport.

Still very unstable aloft so we might get another storm hopefully. smile
