Morning all

Tipped 82mm out of the gauge this morning, giving me 116mm in the 72 hours from 0900 Friday.

Wind here has been crazy! Had a pretty consistent 30-40kts for the last 24 hours with much stronger gusts. Throw in a couple of thunderstorms, hail, and driving rain for good measure.

Mount Read has recorded gusts over 55kts (100km/h) a number of times since the early hours of yesterday morning. Maximum gusts of 64kts (119km/h).

Evening all,
Had our first frost this morning with the car windows frozen and a very light frost in patches on the lawn.
Min was 4.3 degrees but clear and calm.

Also to note the baro pressure got as high as 1041hpa in Hobart yesterday morning which was a new record for March any where in Australia.

That's well spotted, SF. It's surprising the pressure was so high with the overcast weather and it's still over 1030hpa with some drizzle around.

I had no idea either. I thought intense high pressure systems were normally associated with prolonged settled weather ( many days ), not in this case..

Only had 3mm till 9 am and 5.6mm there after.
Every where around me had nearly double.
Looking windy in the morning with a severe weather warning for damaging winds.
SE district forecast has 60-80km from the SW. That will smash my place..
Going to lay some trees over tonight to protect them.

You normally double everyone around you! Least it wasn't 60mm to 30mm or something bigger.

Had 28.6mm to 10am and about 10mm since. Bit less than most places around here as well.

Morning all

What a wild night!

65mm in the gauge this morning.

Very gusty SW 30-40kts with heavy rain here at the moment.

Mount Read and Cape Sorell both recorded gusts over 55kts (100km/h) earlier this morning.

Just a light breeze and some annoying drizzle out that way PH. Wait until the real weather arrives.

Hobart temps look like they are currently running somewhere near average. Still not much rain. A common malady for many southern areas of Oz it seems.

In Hobart another trashy warm start to April , looking at well over average from now till next Friday . The rain they predicted didn't appear after 6:00 am this morning and it was meant to be a wet day today , all changed now with rain Sunday ?
Anyways anyone even think it Still can possibly cool down to anywhere average ? by Winter . I think it isn't going to happen given the record breaking warm waters surrounding Tas and the baking heat still left on the Mainland.
