Hi all , a gusty day here in Hobart but it didn't curtail the warmth with a top of 23.3 c . Well here we go again more blocking Highs and more warmth that just keeps on and on , already 4.4 c over for nights and 4 c over for days. Looks like tomorrow could be a 25 c day at least once the wind drops and next Tuesday on wards looking at another run of mid to low 20 c plus days. Thursday the 12th is looking very warm to hot at this stage , so as said no end in sight.

Just reading the comments on N.S.W page and looks like Bathurst is still copping 30 c days , like what the ? The Vic forum is also starting to get a few more punters upset with the non stop belt of High Pressure systems and troughs pushing the heat back and forth week after week. The updated outlook for April to June from the BOM just also took a turn for the worst as far as Temps as well.

The wind has dropped and now the heat of the day is hanging around still 16.5 c here tonight in Hobart ( 9 degree April avg) and close to what it should be in the middle of the day for this time of year ( 17.5 c) . Summer rolls on , just put AC on so I can get to sleep.
Good luck to the retail sector trying to sell Winter clothing this year

Have to agree with MH2O, does look like a persistently warm run through the first half of April. Be surprised if there isn't a few 25+ degree days, maybe today, next Tues and possibly again late next week.

Getting some relief at nights up my way, reached 2.7 over the long weekend and 3.8 this morning, but first week of April last year we were under 1 on a couple of nights.

With nearly twice the rain to the end of march vs 2017, we need some cool nights to slow the grass.

And we still have 30 degree days in our forecast period. Fair dinkum!!

Nights will help to drag day temps down soon.

Our day temps are still at full Summer levels unfortunately.

However - sooner or later it will change, won't be 30 degrees in June

Do you have a good deal on deodorant?

Too warm for late March/Early April.

Yep too warm by a mile BUT I can't do much about it except enjoy the gradual cooling of the nights.

Some decent rain would be nice (for here and many other places of course) however can't see much any time soon.

Bizarre that in the midst of our heat, we had our first frost late last month - strange days indeed smile

Autumn & winter will arrive at some point, just have to wait until the gods say it's ok. smile

Fair call Dave certainly in the lap of the Gods , strange sort of Weather patterns all over this wide land.
A touch under 25 c today actually out of the sun it was very pleasant indeed , but up at the tip face it was a tad warm especially dressed in regulation safety garb.
Anyways most people are enjoying the warmth as it's not over the top and at least it's getting darker sooner smile

I'm like you MH - I really dislike the heat but after years of me getting annoyed by it, I realised I couldn't change it sadly. So now I try to keep my mind off it and tell myself it will get better.

Unfortunately it seems sometimes that I'm just fooling myself smile Also, the last few years have been (in my memory) quite different to say 10 or more years ago and that is worrying in my mind.

I just keep trying to spot signs of cooler times to feel better smile

Hey guys - just so you can see how warm it's been up here and here abouts.

A quote from BLAIR TREWIN in our NSW thread. - MH - you will be wishing you could get this - NOT!!!! grin

Blair - "I've just been collating lists of existing records for consecutive days above 30/32/35 in April, many of which will not survive the next week. Some look likely to be broken by large margins - Dubbo (existing record 6 days over 30) looks likely to get to at least 12, and I suspect Richmond's (4) is going to be demolished, too.

Bathurst Ag (already with 4 30+ days, with another 7 forecast) has a good chance of having more 30+ days this April than it's had in the last 108 Aprils put together (8). " - End Quote.

Wish you were here? grin Only the 5th of April with 4 days at 30 or above already shocked grin

We normally average 0.1 days at 30 or more per April (1 every 10 years) - already have 4 and another 6 or 7 forecast for the next week.

Better move back to Tassie grin

That is a nasty record to set! Also massive, more in one April than in the previous 108 Aprils combined. Better you than me.

Some light precip around in the last 24 hours in Tassie too - something at least I suppose smile

Hope there's soon more about where it's needed although not a lot in the forecast.

Well hope the weather cools soon for you Dave, but for me I am working off and on at Great Lake for the next two weeks so nice to have the cooler weather up here. About 7 degrees atm and before I came up here we had 12.4mm yesterday at home, very happy with that!
Not sure what the next 7 days holds weather wise but either Westerly windy stuff or lows and rain at times.

Well another warm dry and windy April day here in Hobart with 23 c Looks like tonight will also add further to the max overnights being experienced with it currently 17 c and not a breath of wind Once again the air con has been set to cool down the room before bed time smile
Still plenty of Highs coming over from the West even as far out as next Monday and Troughs trapping that inland Mainland heat these records around the Country are set to continue for a while yet.
Well the Video on this Website has mentioned the Climate Change wording , well when we are breaking records like the one in Sydney at 160 years etc something is amiss.

BTW still over average monthly records in Hobart for night (+2.7) and day(+3.3) despite a few cooler days and some precip . It's looking like the curtains are already being drawn on both ends on yet another Winter , late to start and you can bet early Sprummer again this year.
