A few days ago I enabled the automatic email facility and configured it to send me a daily forecast. The emails are received just fine ... but they don't contain any information.

Dear Andy,
Here is your Weatherzone 7 day forecast.

There's a small graphic advert for the Weatherzone iPhone app here

You have received this email because you indicated on the Weatherzone website that you wished to receive weather updates be sent to ....

Nobody has a clue as to why my daily automatic forecast emails don't actually contain a forecast?
As described above, after the text "Here is your Weatherzone 7 day forecast" all I get is an advert for the iPhone app.

Oh well, I've given it four days here and it doesn't look like anyone who can do anything actually reads this section of the forums ... which is a bit disappointing.
I'll try emailing the admins.

Can't say I'm impressed.

I used the contact form as advised to notify admins of the problem and got a generic reply blaming firewalls and spam filtering for the non-receipt of the automatic emails. The support ticket was noted as "closed".

Even the title of my email made it clear that I DO receive the emails. The emails are not being blocked, they arrive just fine but they don't contain a forecast or anything other than an advert for the Weatherzone iPhone app.

Ho-Hum. Almost four weeks later and this still isn't resolved. Seems it comes down to locations ... some locations just result in a blank forecast.

Hi Andy

We have been having ongoing issues with our email forecast products for years. Unfortunately, this is not an area that we have been able to devote significant resources to fix. I am under the impression that your forecast email does work for a nearby location, so for now, the best advice I can offer you is to change to the alternative location.

Apologies for the inconvenience.

Thanks Matthew. Yes, that's what I've done.
I now receive an automatic email forecast for somewhere near where I live ... which I guess is an improvement on a blank forecast for where I do live. smile
Close enough is good enough I suppose.

Despite an email from support advising that "the IT section have fixed the problem" this still doesn't work. If I put in another location I get the emails containing the forecast ... but then my location on things like the radar is in the wrong place. I've now just given up and unsubscribed from the automatic emails ... the same solution that !SCHUMMY used last year. It is a bit sad that an acknowledged and clearly long-term problem can't be fixed ... particularly given the amount I've paid in subscriptions to Weatherzone over the years.
