Hrm weatherzone is saying 30 max today while bom is at 36...

Nuh my mistake both at 36.

Nice video split, shame it's so expensive though. Reckon I'd probably be [censored] myself more with a dude strapped to my back then doing it solo.

Watch out for some EXTREME heat over the next few days inland, with a very broad and hot airmass lingering across the interior with a broad trough of low pressure and no cleanout whatsoever. 850hPa temps progged up to 34C in parts of the far western interior and also into eastern WA. Places such as Marla, Oodnadatta, Marree, Tarcoola, Nullarbor, Eucla, Coober Pedy and to a lesser extent Ceduna and Kyancutta should seriously boil over the next 4-5 days, especially later in the week over the west. Temps could crack 47-48C most days with even a chance of a 49-50C out there somewhere.

It certainly was a great experience. I think the next challenge is the 14,000ft jump. You get about an extra 20secs of freefall.

Thanks for the birthday wishes.

I went bungy jumping while in Queenstown about 10 or so years ago. Always wanted to skydive but the price was a turn off. But yeah I am a bit addicted. Upon jumping, you become a member of the Australian Parachute Federation. I can get a discount on my next jump. Only problem is, the mebership runs out in March and the discount is only $20!! A bit of a joke really. If it was $100-$150 off then I would consider doing another one. You can get group discounts. Perhaps a SA Weatherzone jump??? poke

Gradually warming up in the city... up to 32C now as the hotter air starts heading south...
Clare has hit 36C, and noticed Pt Augusta just rose from 35C to 42.6C in 30 mins.....
In the far north there's a few 44-46C already.... smile

thats about correct that forecast. Airport will stay down due to seabreeze. Although wouldnt surprise me to see Adelaide still make the original 36C and Parafield similar...

Tarcoola at 45.8C, on track for 47C or so I'd say and would expect similar from Roxby Downs/Coober Pedy/Marree come end of the day.

Adelaide swaying between winds from the SW and the NW.... needs to stay NW for it go much higher than 33 or 34...
Nuriootpa & Roseworthy no trouble going 35+ in the Norwesterly...

You don't often see Clare on 38C and Adelaide on 30C lol....

Tarcoola on 46.9 at 1.30pm

Temp dropped backed to 29.9 at Roseworthy - looks like the seabreeze has won the battle (for now)

Phenomenal for Woomera, doesn't normally stand at the top of the extreme heat table in SA. Port Augusta well known for it but wow @ so far south. Progs only get hotter in coming days to be honest, very very hot airmass. Watch for a late charge from Marree.

Woomera up to 47.9 now to break the record.

The 47.8C at port Augusta is also an all-time record breaking the 47.1 in 1979.

The 20C difference between Pt Augusta & Whyalla atm is incredible!!

Whoa hard to believe it to be honest...been comfortable here all day sea breeze just picking up now.

Fairly big area of lightish rain heading our way...any chance in hell of a couple bolts? I'm guessing no.

I grew up in Port Augusta the site has changed several times, it was 119.6F in 1960s when I was a lad equates to 49C, so it is really not at the all time record yet!

Oodnadatta became the hottest place in Australia on 2 January 1960 when it officially recorded a temperature of 50.7C. Marree, at the start of the Oodnadatta track recorded only!!!!!! 49.4C on that same day. (That is the day of the 49C at Port Augusta)
