When reading in the forums some key words get changed from flat text to a link elsewhere on the site. This is somewhat distracting and makes it less clear when a forum participant is providing a useful link, rather than when weatherzone is engaged in SEO.

A contrived example : Will the Sydney radar show higher rainfall during La Nina or El Nino? What is the relationship between SOI and ENSO? I didn't add those links.

I understand the benefits of SEO for a predominantly advertisement supported website. But could an option to disable this be added for silver members?

Yep good idea. It's bloody distracting and it can be turned off by the administrators, not sure about Silver membership only not having it but that is also a good idea.

I think the linked keywords are a good idea, especially for those new members who may not be comfortable with meterological terminology yet and may not know where to look for certain things. As long as the number of keywords stays at about the current level.

The key words, however don't always take a new user to a useful location for each incidence.

If the keywords were, for example, a link to the weatherzone glossary for uncommon technical terms, then that could be useful.

But realistically, is there anyone who isn't familiar with Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, or where to go on the site to find a radar?

This 'feature' isn't about helping new members, it's about higher page position in search engines.
