Gusty here, with constant rumbles of thunder and moderate rainfall rates..not much, but still beggers can't be choosers.

CoastalStorm you may be right, a small cell over Marsfield/Pymble area is rebuilding strength as it heads to the coast.

Looks like we are set to be hit head-on by this incoming thing. It's sped right up, and is sweeping up to the NE from our SW (I'm sure it was tracking more east earlier today).
plus another set of something has blossomed up to our NW and seems intent on Goulburn.
Whole horizon, along the west and around to the south, is blue/black wall cloud with messy Cu above (where you can see above), and the far distance has gone all hazy, dark and ominous.
Quite intense lightning activity in the patch headed straight for central Canberra.

Holy crap, if anyone's bored, have a look at the Canberra radar view. Both lines are converging on Canberra central! One is to the north and is heading in SE, the other is to the W/SW and is heading in NE! They are going to intersect somewhere around Canberra's NW, I think. How weird.
I've got a box-seat view and it's very dark indeed, big scary blue/black clouds crowding in and the wind is whistling and rattling the building. No pyrotechnics yet.

Copped a fair part of that storm cell in Terrey Hills, some nice cloud formations and plenty of CC lightning. Would've been great at night! Captured a few shots and footage on the Iphone but nothing too classic. I'll take that storm after getting nothing all Summer, not bad.

I'll take it too, but only because this morning's 5.15 forecast said "Mostly sunny. Light winds." That's it. I was watching the wool packs build up on the western horizon during the day from my elevated building site position at Berowra. I knew we were in for something. As it turned out, we only got heavy rain and a few rumbles of thunder, but it was certainly better than nothing. It put 3 mm's into my gauge at Dural. Homer

Quite disappointed nothing much came of that cell here, now we've got a big fat blocking high to look forward to for the next 2 weeks. If it's over Tassie or the GAB (which it looks like it is), bring it on! At least that will keep things cool and showery.

Turned out pretty well here in the West. Penrith AWS just up the road from work picked up 15mm, a gust of about 50km/h and a few clear air CG's as well as plenty of CC's. Not bad for late March i must say!

A few photos from the storms that move through western Sydney earlier this afternoon. Made the decision to quickly dash to Luddenham to watch what was going on. The four photos are over a period of 20 - 30 minutes. I had my suspicions around 11:30 something was going to happen based on how the sky was looking. I wasn't disappointed! Was impressed with the strength of the winds when the storm finally moved through. Also experienced hail up to 1cm in size. Not sure if it would have produced anything bigger, but I wasn't going to chance it by driving further into it. Definitely a nice little surprise!
