Damn! I reckon a few active volcanoes would give the tourism sector a much needed boost Yeah, one day I'll get to visit Tanna, but imagine some home grown ones.... The following site is an interesting one if you haven't already found it: http://www.iris.edu/seismon/ for quakes, that is.

I think I may have just felt another tremor low rumble with very light shaking. It was very hard to tell either way, am watching the earthquake sites for more info.

Read a report yesterday regarding our earthquakes. Aparently the Australian tectonic plate is moving about and bumping against the Asian plate. Hold that thought people. Sounds like one of those rides at the show.

It updates as they happen Things. Those two earthquakes should still be listed on the Last 30 Days until they fall outside the 30 days. And the map should show them as being a yellow circle indicating the quakes occurred within the last two weeks, or a pink dot indicating they occurred during the past 5 years. They have been removed from both the list and the map.

Try This explorer go to - Geoscience Australia Website
then - recent earthquake activity

Add one somewhere between Glastone and Bilolea ... only mag 2.5, yesterday May 8 2011 at 3:49pm ... still makes you wonder all this sudden activity? Maybe it is common in those areas, it does not get published much and I was not looking before ...

its not all that unusual to get earth tremors through the region. and seismology station at charters towers is still in place to record these tremors. was put there for a reason.
