I find it weird that the depth was at 10km, just like the majority of the quakes in Japan and NZ as of late....

some body is behind these maybe Who, the boogie man? Or is it the government? Put the tin foil hat away already! When it happened, my wife picked up on it before I did. As soon as she mentioned the house shook it seemed to really shake, and then it was over. I still think I felt the aftershock, could have just been my legs shaking too. Will ring some of my customers tomorrow, as they all live outside of Bowen near the epicentre.

We had it out here at about 3.30, didn't feel the aftershock at 5.15 because we were in the car. Hubby said we just got another small aftershock about 1hr ago. I was out then.

Strange as this may seem, I'm putting my hand up for a slight tremor down here - felt a vibration through the house at the same time. Nearly said something to hubby but thought I was imagining it.

Well I was down at north shore at the display village and was walking along the bitumen, a sales guy came running out of a house and asked me "did I feel it"? I was like WTF??? He said there was just an earthquake, I was thinking well mate I won't be buying a house off you, you're on drugs!!!! But then everyone in the display village started pouring out of houses asking the same question!!! Regardless, I didn't feel a thing! Hubby was home and didn't feel it, daughter at work in town, didn't feel it, mum in Condon, didn't feel it! I figure we just mustn't be a very observant family lol.

"And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and lo, there was a great earthquake;and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood." Revelation 6:12 + just possible according to an associate professor at UC Santa Barbara, that the end of the world (according to the Mayan calender, the world ends on 21/12/2012) may just be a bit inaccurate and could actually be 60 days out (Honest) .. think I prefer the Book of Revelation .......

To this point explanation of geology. Whereas person felt by an earthquake is complicated due to dependable groundmass where you are. Some soils or rocks or fluids can insulate the vibration in very isolated areas. Thats why people have not felt it while across the road or next to you have felt it! Think of type of waves, primary, secondary waves. Not all can go through solids and liquids. I hope it help you to explain the situation.

Normally this stuff is explained using fault lines etc etc but ............. I was not aware Australia had any weaknesses near this geographical location.
What is the word from the experts on this little number, do they even have a clue????
