point and shoot or SLR?

point and shoot or SLR?

At the moment I'm using a point and shoot (Kodak), but I'd like a DSLR, preferably a Canon EOS 5D Mk 11 or a Canon EOS 550D. Failing that a Nikon D70 is good as well I hear.

Hey all. Loving these great winter images from everyone. Some true talent in here. I havn't posted in quite some time so heres a shot I took before work on monday morning 4th July of some fog in the western suburbs of Brissy.

First really decent frost of the year in South Lismore this morning......0.6° when these pics were taken

Sunrise around 6:30am on the north side of Brisbane. It was a nice 3.2C and clear skies.

Wow nice photos. 3.2C! Isn't that a bit cold for Brisbane?

Quite low cloud over King George Sound this morning. You can't see the sea in this photo but it is there somewhere beneath that cloud. Isn't it called sea smoke?

Big seas all way up the nsw coast this the first pulse of swell a couple days ago on the gold coast

Here a picture of typical thunderstorm activity in Pallendra, north of city of Townsville. Picture was taken by me while being on photography field trip. It was a great day seeing the combination of thunderstorms and beautiful landscape!

Now, I've posted this in the SA forum, but if you missed it, this is one thing that SA is famous for - high based branch fest lightning!


By no means was it a flang fest though - I got lucky! A close up is also in the SA forum, too.

I am starting to sort out my photo's from a trip to Western Australia.
First one from Busselton WA, Had some weather move in off the coast. Little cells packing some good rainfall.


Also a sunrise from the Princess Royal Harbour, Albany WA

Which side is the sky and which is the sea? They look identical, save for the bottom part - gives it away.

Had a nice sunset at Belmont today.

A few fog patches on the valley floor followed by a great day.West of wingham this morning

We get some awesome sunrises over Prinncess Royal Habour, I think that would be my favourite place in Albany to watch a sunrise. If I can drag myself out of bed earlier enough, lol.

Oh and ripper CGs Max. How did you capture so many bolts, were you using a slow exposure or something?
