It's been a great start to Winter in Melbourne so far, with snow in the nearby hills. I grabbed the opportunity to take my new cam out for it's first 'chase'.

These were from the Olinda Golf Course in the Dandenongs on 8th June:

And these were from Mt Donna Buang:

Regarding the third that you posted, Coolibah. What sort of exposure do you have to use to a reflection of the sky on the river? I tried to doing that with an ordinary Kodak, just couldn't get the image I wanted.

At the moment I'm using a point and shoot (Kodak), but I'd like a DSLR, preferably a Canon EOS 5D Mk 11 or a Canon EOS 550D. Failing that a Nikon D70 is good as well I hear.

Nice photos joesk - they have a cold feeling to them!

Now, I've posted this in the SA forum, but if you missed it, this is one thing that SA is famous for - high based branch fest lightning!

By no means was it a flang fest though - I got lucky! A close up is also in the SA forum, too.

Oh and ripper CGs Max. How did you capture so many bolts, were you using a slow exposure or something?

Thanks! smile No, that happened instantaneously; and the only bolt(s) that happened within the 2m 51s exposure. And the only decent thing that popped up in the 30-40 minutes I was there. In short, I got lucky. poke

I just thought I would come out of hibernation during our long stormless dry season as the build-up draws ever so close. smile

Geez, there are some wonderful photos coming in! Love Daniels sunsets, Jane's snowscapes and Rikki's Foggy landscapes just to name a few.
Well done everyone!

I managed to get out this evening down at East Point for a bit of a play during a smokey dry season twilight. smile

Everyone's photos are great, keep it up! Love the twilight, Jacci.
