Tassie looks likely to see snow to quite low levels next week. 520 thickness very close according to models. All models similar enough to give confidence that the south of the state MIGHT see flakeage to or near sea level.

Forum member Roddy is in western Tasmania until Wed evening, so should be able to see some snow action from the first event Tues am. I'll pass on any reports he sends through.

Should be settled snow down to 200m thursday morning smile Would love to see some pics! Sea level is definately not out of the question for this one. Id give it a better than even chance of some flakeage, wouldnt hang my hat on it though. A settling on some of the southern beaches certainly would be quite a sight though.

Certainly snow sighted falling to low levels (some below 200m) Around Derwent Bridge, Bronte, Miena etc must look great.

Must be lovely to see sprinklings of snow on the lower levels in Tassie at the moment.
We may see some too where (or nearby) I live.
Cheers smile

They took some pics of their own back yards because most of them now live around 250 to 300 metres. Snow to sea level would have been in fleeting heavy showers and if the camera was not on hand bad luck - that's how the luck usually works out. smile

For those who are suffering frozen water pipes in the cold I know some people leave a tap just dripping. It is supposed to help stop the pipes freezing. I can take no responsibility for the accuracy of this information or water bills if you try it. grin

Good luck to you all down there, hope you are managing to get thru these storms with minimal damage. Your weather couldn't be more different to ours in SE QLD atm, yet we're complaining up here because it's boring wink we humans are a fickle lot !! smile

Gday everyone, what a flow of systems we've had in Tas over the last couple of weeks really. Really happy with the low snow levels so far this winter.
I have pics and footage from previous years low level events. If anyone is interested, i can post links or pictures.
Cheers.
