Bloody wet. grin And soggy. Bit of local flooding on the causeways as expected.

Hubby tossed out 60ml this morning. Add that to the others stuff we have had and I think we would be over the 300ml for this event.

It certainly is wet. All of my kids have been put on 'holiday leave' since there isn't work due to the wet.

I stocked up on my flood supplies last week just in case it did happen so have no problems. I am sure though that there will be people desperate to get to the shops though.

Grass is growing well and even beginning to fill in some of the dead spots. I am planning on shoving all the seeds from last nights pumpkin in the ground today. You never know. grin

23mm in the last 2 hours here. I have a feeling the forecasts might have a bit of uncertainty this coming week with the development of a cyclone and the movement of these troughs.

Ok so I tipped out what was in the gauge.

198.5mm past few days but ....

Hadn't been keeping a record but using other people's data off another group and they live in the same suburb less than 1km away I am getting about the same as Yeppoon 395.5 mm so far. I'd say around 400mm has fallen at least. 465 mm like Kinka Beach ? dunno. the hills here must have some impact.

I think Mulambin gets better rain from the east than NE maybe due to that hill at Mulambin beach?

Rain totals are probably as variable as recording methods...digital/manual, different rain gauges, direction they are facing, surrounding vegetation/buildings and of course hills. I wonder if the differeces between gauges become greater the more rain there is? One thing's for sure, Yeppoon has different weather from us.

I find down here to be less windy when Yeppoon is windy from the NE , but SE winds seem stronger.

SW winds never seem that strong here in winter or summer. I mean they can be but not ofen.Wondering if that is due to the hill near Tanby Road acting as a barrier. I cannot think of a long period of W /SW winds being super gusty really. Always seems stronger from the ocean.

E or SE winds seem to be the ones that can be extremely gusty. ]

N winds seem to again always be light .

Seems to rain here sometimes when it is not raining at all in Yeppoon. Overnight can be a tiny speck on the radar here and nothing else in the whole coast weird ...

I've never though it was hot here really only the humidity. This year apart from a few low 30 days it still has been the humidity that has been the yuk factor.

I'd say the feels like temps in summer down here with humidity would be 32-34deg.

Wonder if the sun will come out tomorrow .

Vinnie, if I used the totals from near me to guess how much rain I had I would have to think I was mad because my grass would have been green instead of dead. I have watched the hill directly over the road, a k at best, entirely disappear under thick rain whilst not a drop has fallen on my place.

Even the other night when we had such good rain we got 30ml more than the next street over, even up and down our own road.

My fish tank is looking so much better tonight. I went and caught a heap of glass shrimp from my dam overflow and added them to the tank. Now if only I could find a market for them I could actually make a few dollars easily. grin

Well the big rain is gone for now, but showers and storms in the forecast for the foreseeable future.
Maybe a cyclone too haha.
