Are you referring to the man up in Lotus Creek that had his petrol station washed away CF?
That's completely horrible and I am not trying to say absolutely no one was affected. I just think it was sensationalised too much here in Rock Vegas. There was seemingly no other news coming out of TMB during the last week. Other than talking about '3 tropical systems criculating Australia' which they fail to mention will have next to no affect on us in QLD.

A lovely 14.5c minimum at my house this morning, how about others? It's nice outside, 26c, 20% humidity absolutely beautiful!

Yep it's nice. This time last year it was still humid and warm with the El Nino.

I think it was all helped along by the politicians. I read about those helicopter pilots, using their own helicopters and paying for it themselves, distributing food and checking on people in the Lotus Creek and inland from Collinsville area.

No government offers of reimburing them, that has come from a charity organisation.

Meanwhile it was reported the government pays to have a police helicopter fly round Rockhampton township for a week for god knows what reason.

These disasters the "authorities" only seem to go after the large population areas even if it is a common event like the Rockhampton flood, and everyone else has to fend for themselves.

It would be lovely to see a drop or 20 again. Despite the massive falls the ground is rapidly losing it's moisture. The last week of really windy weather hasn't helped it.

Why can't we just order our weather. Nice fine sunny mild days with a nice shower every night to keep things lovely.

Seen a few posts on FB about people complaining their power bills are $2000 over summer and that the price of power here is too high and petitioning for a change ...haha seriously ?

We had a brief shower a few days ago at night, it was strange the only dot on the whole radar and it was over here and then it lasted just a minute or two.

Vinnie, power is a very pricey luxury these days. And getting worse.

Even the old couple down the road were suffering bill shock from the last one. They run one small aircon at night only and only when it is really hot. They have 2 fridges (a second fridge or freezer is a necessity when you live so far from town) only one tele in the house and usually only have one light on at night. Washing machine is a modern front loader. Their bill was a lot higher than previous bills.

Even I who pay my bill weekly had to top up the payment and have now increased my weekly contribution. Normally what I was paying would be in excess for winter and used up over summer. Not this time.

I am looking at installing a stand alone solar system that will provide for the house with back up being mains and genny.

It is quite breezy down here again.

Lol, FNQ is pretty slow too, just a few regs keeping things going, but not much to talk about. Here, mostly drizzle interfering with spring?, err autumn cleaning.

My weather is being boringly predictable. No rain. Bugga. The pumpkin seeds I planted in the paddock that came up looked so promising. With the heat and the weeks of wind our place is back to bone dry paddocks. Even the grass that sprang up is looking a tad sad although since I have destocked the property it isn't a major issue.

I had a lovely surprise when I came home from a couple of nights away. My darling son and his best mate were minding the place and instead of going fishing mowed my yards and trimmed all the overgrown hedges. It made me feel so special that they did that for me.

I am wondering where Vinnie is and hoping he is good. He normally keeps the thread going and has been no where to be seen.

I'm here just nothing to report really. Weather in Yeppoon has just been fine and sunny everyday lol.

Looks like I'm moving to Adelaide later this year or next but will keep posting in here in the meantime as it won't be happening straightaway.

Has anyone heard anything about Willow.
Last thing I heard he was in the 4WD instead of the house overnight.

That was his last post on the 28th. He was back online on the 31st but hasn't posted anything. Perhaps he has shell shock from it? I hope he is all good though.

If he was back online on 31st, then that's good. We know he's okay. Would love to hear his experience of the night though, if he's up to sharing it.
Thanks bundybear.
