Would I be thinking accurately in that Sellick's Hill's Radar underestimates rain rates (slightly or a fair bit)?

It's fairly good in the convective stuff that's heavy but otherwise yes it does.

The line with that front was nothing short of violent. Flat out the heaviest rain here since the brilliant winter coldies of 2013. Amazing, lashing, sideways and just out and out torrential. Exactly like a monsoonal shower from the Top End. Got 10.4mm from that first one alone, few moderate to quite heavy ones since as well.

I think with sellicks radar distance from radar has a much greater effect than the Doppler that is Buckland park. I don't think its too inaccurate up to say 50km, but beyond that it severely underestimates rain rates.

more heavy rain yestereday evening, into stream showers now,
plotting shows showers moving@73kmh.
winds peaked in the 4hrs between 10pm and 2am, backed off
after that but not by much.
mate at bute only got a couple of mils from the system up
to 6pm yesterday.

my total up to and including the 26th ended up as 17.2mm
comprising :-
24- 7.6mm
25- 7.4mm
26- 2.2mm
not too sloppy at all considering much of the 25th and all
of the 26th was drizzle.
