Steve I understand and respect what your saying , and yes drawing negativity here is probably not a good thing, going by peoples reply's today, it seems a lot of people understand my point. As regards to the weather pages, i'm all for real time reporting as it can be beneficial to those in the firing line when there's storms or major rain events. However the forecasting should be left to those that are qualified. I understand your tired of the bagging and you have every right to say that, however i'm tired of the BOM getting bagged by hypocritical people who rely on there resources for chart access.

Cheers

I agree.

I'm not qualified by any means but having followed this stuff since I was a kid, and having been a poster here since 2002, I feel that through other more knowledgeable users here in the past (Dave, AC, Macca, Bodie etc) that I have a good enough grasp on the content & commentary that I DO decide to post, whether it be a forecast or real-time analysis. The stuff that I DON'T post is the stuff that I feel I don't know enough about, since for all I know, all I could be doing is spreading mere misinformation - and that, I feel, is the trap that so many of these people from those weather pages seem to fall into. Best to leave that stuff to the BoM and the others who have the quals.

Yep I agree with what you are both saying. What I'm saying is on here the forum we should be able to forecast and talk models etc qualified or unqualified. FB on the other hand what can I say its good as much as its bad. I've seen and read plenty of times the media have made as much hysteria. I appreciate what people post here and I look here mainly as its more realistic and the posts are a lot more valuable and not lost in time.

Don't bother with weather on FB - too sensational. BoM for me.

The issue I have with some online information [in the case of this thread, weather forecast information],...is the motivation.

I have followed this site for a long time and never said anything before.
So now it is time for me to say quals don't matter, nor disclaimers.
It is the the responsibility of the reader to realise what is good and not

I was wanting to capture some interesting clouds coming from the SE go over Mt Lindesay, but wasn't too much that was photogenic .
Did grab a short clip of one of the squalls coming up over the ranges passing Woodenbong on its way to Killarney,

Cheers Joe

Apparently according to Blair Trewin the readings were OK.
