No probs Matt.

On another subject, nights look set to get colder later next week too with a drier W'ly/SW'ly type flow, perhaps approaching or reaching single digit figures away from the coast.

Isolated showers? More like isolated breaks!

What a grey old slightly chilly day it has been today. We had one good shower before and that was it.

Oh how it reminds us Winter is on the door step. Rrrrr

We've got rain predicted starting Monday but I can't see where it's supposed to be coming from. BSCH is certainly not seeing it, I've noticed it's been off most of this year compared to the predictions which have mostly come off.

I think its from that low down in the bight and its associated trough line thats predicted to stretch up to Queensland on Monday. Mind you, it doesn't look like its going to deliver much at this stage.

We got 4 mm with a nice heavy shower just on sunset today, our first measureable rain in 3 weeks.

Just would like to share a photo from the Solar Eclipse, still learning how to use the filter but I think it worked out pretty well

I'll be interested to see what max temp we'll end up reaching tomorrow (Thu). For the areas that get patchy light rain which lasts for awhile (more likely in northern parts), the rain falling through the dry air in the lower levels will probably cause impressively cool max temps lower than those forecast by OCF (as long as the extensive mid/high cloud persists into late afternoon).

But for other areas with thinner cloud/no rain/earlier clearance of the cloud, I'm only expecting moderately cool max's.

Just a 14 C maximum today, its currently 13 C at the moment. We were getting minimum temperatures like that just a couple of days ago!
Only 2.7 mm of rain though.

It managed to get to a tropical 17°C just before lunch. It has gone backwards since then though and is currenly just over 14°C.
Who do I complain to?

I wasn't complaining, I was just stating that I wasn't expecting such a low maximum temperature, and comparing it to some unusually warm minimums a few nights ago.

I want to complain. I hate the cold. frown
I wish I lived in Darwin this time of year, but then again... If I did I would probably put the air con on to cool down!

I don't know how much of this non-severe weather I can take. Loving this colder weather though no complaints here except would love some snow. I'm hoping I could go for a snow chase in winter down south of the border hopefully. Later next week is looking promising for some wet stuff maybe even the fimiliar Low abit higher up this time a few models are going with another trough system effecting SEQ but along way out. I'm sure that will change and be further South, but looks to clear off fast.
What does it take to get a good winter storm??

Might not have to wait too long. EC starting to run with a very slow moving ECL following on the heels of a strong NW clouds and. Main focus appears to be S of the border but will still have some impact in Se Qld. Upper system looks very slow moving and is still amplified across the E coast even at the end of ECs run. Could bring some big coastal rains and even some really good falls for the inland areas much in need of it. Not sure how good the grass growth is out there this time of year though?

The NDVI (normalised difference vegetation index) analysis maps can give an idea of how green or brown the vegetation is, as well as how much greener or browner than normal:
